The beginnings of Amanné
On 24 November 1983, a very special café opened its doors at Tweede Walstraat 118 in Nijmegen, inspired by the diverse backgrounds of its three founders. The name Amanné—a combination of AMbon, the ANtilles and the NEtherlands—symbolises the unique fusion of these cultures.
Today, in 2024, Amanné is known as an exotic oasis in Nijmegen, where dance, music and different cultures come together. It is a welcoming meeting place for everyone: young and old, passionate dancers and those simply looking to enjoy themselves.
