The Caribbean, aki mes.

Akimes is the Caribbean's noticeboard: the places, the events, the deals — from the community, for the community.

The name

Akí mes means “right here.”

In Papiamento, akí mes is what you say when something is exactly where you are — right here. That's the whole idea: not somewhere far away, not behind a search engine. Caribbean life, akí mes.

A collage of Caribbean life: couples dancing, a woman in a straw hat and festival dress, a palm-lined beach, local food, a barbershop and folk dancers.

What we do

Discover it — and live it.

Akimes works two ways. Visiting? Find the fiestas, the food and the spots locals actually go to. Living here? It's your daily radar — what's on tonight, which place just opened, where the deals are.

  • Living here? Your daily radar for what's on.

Where

Four countries, one wave.

The Netherlands is open first — home to a huge Caribbean community, so the fiestas, eats and nightlife live there too. Aruba, Bonaire and Curaçao are next, and they open soon.
